Assignment One:
Contrast Drawing
Materials - Paper, Pencil and Markers
1. Land hand and part of arm on piece of paper.
2. Holding the pencil straight up, trace the hand & arm onto the paper.
3. Draw a geometric shape between the first finger and the thumb.
4. Choosing a square or circle, draw the shape around the geometric shape. Now continue to draw a square or circle over and over again until you reach the end of the page, overlapping the hand as you go.

6. Choosing warm or cool colors, color in the hand. Each section should be a different color within the warm or cool colors family.

Contrast Assignment Two: Advanced
Classroom discussion about contrast and complete worksheet. Sketching Contrast Drawing Materials - Pencil and sketchbook. In sketchbook (mapping out design) 1. Trace both hands laid out in any direction. Make sure to hold the pencil straight up to avoid "witch" looking fingers. 2. Divide the rest of the sketchbook into different shapes. Leave gaps between the shapes and hands. 3. Fill each shape and hands with different textures. See texture examples below. PRINT |

2. Using various colors, divide the paper into sections. (Do not forget to put gaps between them.)
3. Following sketchbook drawing, fill in the different areas with texture. Make sure to represent all the Contrast Requirements.
